TOLEDO (NOT OHIO!!!)

A tree on the hillside of Toledo. You can see part of an old defense tower in the background.

The city was preparing for a religious festival called Corpus Christi. They hang white banners over the path where they will be carrying statues of the Virgen Mary and other patron saints of Toledo.

During the festival, residents hang decorations and flowers on the city´s streets and buildings.

These were all real roses!

This is the Toledo cathedral, built between 1226 and 1498!

This is one of the wagons that was used to help build the cathedral.

These are some of the tools used too!

There´s a stairway behind these gates...not sure where they lead to?

This is the ceiling dome of the mausoleum in the cathedral. Pretty ornate!

This is the most detailed capilla I have seen so far in Spain. I spent almost an hour just staring at it. My neck was so cramped that night! I love how the scuptures just come out from the dome.

I zoomed in with my camera and found this shot in the capilla. I thought it made a pretty cool sillouette.

This is one of the old doors to the city walls, Puerto de Brigara.

This was one of the main doors, Puerta del Sol.

This is a cool fountain running down the street!

This is a door to another church.

An outside view of the old city walls.

More city walls of Toledo.

This plaque quotes Miguel de Cervantes, Spains greatest and most beloved auther. It says that ¨Toledo is the glory of Spain and light of her cities.¨
