Luxembourg

Hi everyone! Well, it's been two weeks since I have returned from my mega Europe trip. The jet lag didn't hit me until a few days later. Thought I was fine (who was I trying to kid???!!!) Adjusting to life in America has really put the cultural experiences from Europe in perspective. It is so weird to see big cars and trucks and large grassy lawns! However, it is nice to sleep in my own bed, not worry about where I'm going to do laundry, and also wear different clothes!

I returned on Friday, August 17th, and then started school that Monday! Grad school involves A LOT of reading so you'll have to be patient with me in posting the rest of the pics. That being said, here are the first set of pics. These are from the end of June in Luxembourg City and Vianden.

Withing the city walls (casemates) of Luxembourg City. Bordered by Germany, France, and Belgium, Luxembourg has a long history as a strategic fortress in Europe.

Parliament Building.
Did you know Luxembourg has the highest Gross Domestic Product per capita in the world?
Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg.
Luxembourg has the claim of being the last remaining sovereign Grand Duchy in the world! The weekend I visited Luxembourg happened to be their National Holiday (like 4th of July, except this was commemorating the Duke's birthday).

Luxembourg City Town Hall.

Taking a break from all the sightseeing!

Luxembourg City's Notre Dame Cathedral:
Cathedral Doors. Luxembourg is predominantly Roman Catholic.
I passed this street everyday walking between my hotel and the main square.

Fun with friends!
